Being an artist

As I finish up the 'Noisy Little Monster' edition and get ready to work full time on the babies for the Down East Doll Show and Conference in June, I realize I need to do things a little differently than I have in the past. Being creative and being happy in my work, I need variety. I get bored easily. So for a while, I will not be taking deposits for edition dolls. Each doll will be one of a kind. I will finish a baby and then offer it for purchase.  So if you are interested, be sure to join my site. I plan on having many full sculpt silicones at the NC show and probably not any available before then. I really hope to meet MANY of you in June!

Noisy Little Monster

I am so pleased you like my little crier! My list is nearly full and it makes an artist so happy to see others appreciate all the hard work we put into these little guys! This has been a lengthy and expensive journey making a full sculpt silicone doll. There have been so many that did not make 'the cut'. So many faces you will not see,...molds,...materials, and machinery that was purchased to make a f/s. So I started with the monkey Schlitze and then on to the crier and I will work up to making a full size newborn of 19-21 inches!

I have lots of plans,....possibly an a/a preemie next ;) but for now,...I have many 'Monsters' to pour, paint, root and send home to their mommies!

I would also like to let everyone know that all of my silicone dolls offered on this site are made from platinum silicone with no additives of any kind to alter their chemical structure. (i.e. thinners, thickeners, etc)  If they say they are soft silicone that means they are made from ecoflex (platinum silicone)

If you ever have any questions about my dolls please feel free to contact me I will answer any questions!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year 2012!

I hope this post finds you all happy and healthy!

Paige is almost sold out from me. Seven left!

Thank you for all all your nice messages about her!

I can't wait for you all to see the twins that will be coming in Spring! ~Grace and George~

On the Silicone front,....wow,..this has been quite a ride,.......but although a due date has come and passed,....the crier, I believe, will be arriving first.

I have had molds made by two different mold makers neither of which produced what I feel is quality work,..so I had to take matters into my own hands and make the molds myself. I hope you all feel it was worth the wait :)

I also have another surprise I have been working on,.....soon to be photographed and shown here first!

Much Love,

Sandy

Push,...Push,....I mean,...pull,...pull,......

Well all the paid for Paige kits have all been shipped! For anyone that still wants a Paige kit, now is the time to order, I still have a few left.

Wow! These full sculpts are tough! You probably notice not a whole lot are out there,....Many artists make the clay sculpt and then there is quite a long time until you see the actual siicone version.....well now I see why! There are moments I want to give up, slowly but surely I am getting there. I think about posting teasers,....I have little 'face plates' I call them,..where I poured the silicone only in the front of the face to check silicone color or something they are not painted nor have eyes in,...eh,...maybe I will,.......

I know I promised pictures of the crier,.....keep in mind he still needs lots of work,...I present the next in line for silicone,.......

Feedback is ALWAYS appreciated ;)
